Product Care & Safety

For best results, keep the following in mind with your HOLLSPA™ FLOATING BENCH product:

CLEANING

ALL SURFACE TYPES

  1. Rinse the floating bench product well after use and dry with a clean cloth.
  2. Use a mild and non-abrasive detergent that does not contain chlorine (e.g. bleach).

STAINLESS STEEL

  1. Do not use steel wool or other abrasive materials that may damage the surface.
  2. Periodically use a stainless steel cleaner to polish and protect the floating bench.
  3. White vinegar may be used for difficult stains.

ENGINEERED QUARTZ

  1. Do not use steel wool or abrasive materials containing aluminum oxide.
  2. Do not use abrasive scouring powders.

GRADE 1 TEAK

  1. A teak benchtop may initially appear polished, due to the rich natural oils within the core of wood. Water spots may be noticeable until the oils gradually evaporate and cause the surface to develop a beautiful silvery patina.
  2. Do not treat your benchtop with teak oil or other preservatives. Such treatments may trap moisture and produce mold or mildew on the surface.
  3. When cleaning, follow these steps:
  • Generously rinse the teak benchtop and all immediately surrounding areas.
  • While wet, use a gentle bristled brush and a solution of 2/3 cup of household detergent, ¼ cup of bleach, and 1 gallon of warm water, gently scrubbing the wet wood in the direction of the grain. Avoid contact with stainless steel components or other surfaces in the room.
  • Rinse the benchtop and all adjacent areas thoroughly, paying close attention to the underside of the bench and the brackets.
  • Entirely dry all surfaces that were exposed to bleach with a clean cloth.

SAFETY

IMPROPER USE

  1. Never use the benchtop as a step or standing platform.
  2. Do not exceed a load of 500 lbs.
  3. Improper use may result in serious damage, bodily injury or death.

DISCONTINUE USE

Discontinue use of the floating bench product and seek professional repair services if any of the following occur:

  1. Splitting, cracking, or other readily visible degradation of the benchtop.
  2. Independent movement of the benchtop from the bench brackets.
  3. Breakdown of the waterproofing silicone seal.
